The Nest

The word Nido comes from the Italian word for “nest.” It is a calm, nurturing home away from home, carefully prepared for babies during their first stage of development.

The Nido environment supports each child’s natural development through movement, language, exploration and everyday experiences. Babies are given the freedom to move and explore at their own pace, and their natural desire to take part in everyday life is supported through routines such as feeding and dressing. Through these experiences and secure relationships with their guides, they gradually develop confidence, communication and growing independence.

A Baby & Early Childhood Programme in Cairo

Nile River Montessori’s Nido is a carefully prepared bilingual English–Arabic environment for babies approximately 4 to 14 months old who are not yet walking. With very limited availability, the programme offers an intimate and highly individual environment supporting early movement, language, communication and growing independence, alongside responsive care from trained educators.

Centrally located between Dokki and Mohandessin, with convenient access from Zamalek, Mosadak Street and the Shooting Club, the Nido forms the beginning of Nile River Montessori’s developmental journey from infancy through Elementary.
